Function

Rotary lobe pump of KV 0,7/18 type and electric pump unit on its base is designed to supply spinning solution and other high-viscosity liquids.

The unit is related to repairable items of aspect I GOST27.003-90 and is manufactured in climatic version U location category 4 GOST 15150-69.

Conventional alphanumerical designation of the unit in orders, correspondence and other documentation should correspond to the indexing adopted in the pump-building industry and to include Technical Specifications designation.


Design

As to the principle of operation the rotary lobe pump is positive displacement machine. In the course of driving and driven rotors rotation, a vacuum is created at the inlet side; as a result the liquid is moved from the inlet to the outlet. At the outlet while the lobes are in engagement the liquid is expelled into the system.

The pump consists of the following main parts and subassemblies: driving and driven shafts equipped with rotors, rolling bearings and gear, the casing, bracket and seals.

The rotor and the gear are fixed at the opposite sides of the shaft.

The driving and the driven rotors are the shafts with lobes which are secured by keys and screws. The rotores are positioned in the special bores of the casing.

The shafts are supported in bearings within the bracket.

The sealing of the shafts – stuffing box.

The unit is completed by the motor-variator-reductor.
